The Ivory Room here in downtown Columbus has been catching our attention these past few months as it prepared to open along the Olentangy River. This modern event space is a fitting location for wedding receptions and related events in the Columbus area. A close friend of ours, Kimberly Koechlin, a Hospitality Management student at The Ohio State University and employee with Cameron Mitchell Catering, was willing to give us some incite on this new location. 1) Where is the Ivory Room located?
- The Ivory Room is located on the sixth floor of the Miranova building in downtown Columbus.
2) What events can be held in the Ivory Room?
- Wedding receptions, corporate meetings, bar/bat mitzvahs and gala events of all types
3) Are there any special aspects or offers that this event space provides?
- Amazing city views from the window walls of the sixth floor that overlooks both the Scioto River and Olentangy River.
4) How many people can fit in the space comfortably?
- The capacity is three hundred people. Comfortably, I would say less than three hundred. There were three hundred and thirty people in the space for the opening event.
5) Will the catering in this space be provided solely from Cameron Mitchell/what are the options?
- Catering will be solely ran by Cameron Mitchell Catering.
6) When was the Grand Opening of The Ivory Room?
- The first wedding reception in the Ivory Room was September 8th, however, there was a smaller event there the Saturday before that.
7) What is the contact information for event space tours?
- The Catering Department is located off of Campus View in Worthington at 7619 Huntington Park Rd. The director of catering is Melissa Johnson, however, there are a few catering sales managers such as Brooke Dowler. Their telephone number is (614) 848-4700.
